Austrian Mobile Power is a platform consisting of Austrian top-notch companies from energy, industry and research with the goal of leading Austria into the age of electromobility.
On 10 to 11 June 2010, upon the invitation of the conference company Business Circle, Federal Minister Doris Bures (Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology), Dr. Hannes Ametsreiter (Telekom Austria and mobilkom austria), Wolfgang Anzengruber (Verbund) and Brigitte Ederer (Siemens AG Österreich) presented their strategies in Vienna for future mobility solutions within the setting of the 1st Austrian Strategy Forum on the Future of Electromobility.
Electromobility is the key to sustainable reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions in private transport. A current, Verbund-initiated study of the Federal Environment Agency (hereafter referred to as "Umweltbundesamt"), has revealed the fact that more than 200,000 e-vehicles are to be expected for Austria by 2020.
In 2010, the State Prize awarded by three ministries was granted for the second time and presented in Vienna on 4 February. The lighthouse project "emporA" was nominated in the "Energy and Efficiency" category.
On 26 January, the presidency of the Climate and Energy Fund gave the go-ahead for sponsorship of "technological beacons of light of electromobility".
